Facilities

The Hermitage Plantation has the perfect amenities for those who want to relax and enjoy this beautiful island on a romantic Caribbean honeymoon. There is an attractive pool, sun terrace and tennis court. There are many scenic walks in the vicinity with the chance to see beautiful humming birds. Horse riding and hikes are also available locally and snorkelling and sailing from the nearby sandy beach, and the friendly members of staff can suggest plenty of local places of interest.

Restaurants

Meals are served on the spacious verandah of the 17th century guest house. For special occasions the beautiful dining room with its dark polished wood and display cabinets of porcelain is used. The staff members in the kitchen are all local and use traditional cooking methods - in fact theirs is the only kitchen still to use a wood burning oven!

All of the food is sourced locally. Herbs and spices are grown in the garden whilst local farmers regularly deliver their produce and fishermen bring their day’s catch straight to the Hermitage. Meals are served throughout the day. Breakfast includes pumpkin pancakes, West Indian omelettes and coconut French toast. Lunch is a selection of traditional dishes with a contemporary twist and the dinner menu changes daily depending on what fresh seasonal products have been delivered! There is a Caribbean buffet and hog roast every week. Before dinner, guests are invited to gather in the sitting room for cocktails.

Special mention must be made of the beautiful Hermitage Bar with its large wooden counter. As well as freshly squeezed juices and home made ginger beer, the bar has quite a reputation for its rum punch too!
