Room Types

Grand Hótel Reykjavík has 314 rooms and all of them are light, bright, comfortable and perfect for two. They have large windows and some have partial sea or city views. There are light wood floors and wooden headboards to the beds and there is a living area with armchairs, coffee table and flat screen satellite TV. For comfort there is a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities and to help with a good night's sleep there are blackout curtains. All rooms have air conditioning and Wi Fi. The bathrooms are styled in black and white and have either a bathtub or walk-in shower. Some rooms have a bathtub with overhead shower.

External view double
This attractive and spacious external view double room offers 26 m² of floor space and a city view. These bright and modern rooms is relaxing and has a comfortable queen sized bed with private bathroom. It includes a flat-screen TV, work desk and minibar.
External view with single room
This comfortable external view single room is situated on floors 1-5 and offer guests great views of the city. This external view room comes with 21 m² of floor area space and a single bed with private bathroom perfect for one adult. It includes air conditioning, free wifi, flat-screen TV, electric kettle, work desk and minibar.
External view twin
This External view room is also available with two twin beds. These attractive rooms offer 27 m² of floor space and a city view. These bright and modern rooms is relaxing and also comes with a private bathroom. It includes a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, work desk and minibar.
Atrium view Double
With an attractive view over the atrium lobby, these atrium view double rooms offer comfortable living and are brightly decorated. Located on the 1st-5th floor, they have a floor area of 26m² and are available with a double bed and private bathroom. It includes a flat-screen TV, work desk and minibar.
Atrium view twin
This room is also available with two twin beds. Located on the 1st-5th floor and attractive views over the atrium lobby, this lovely room offers comfortable living and are brightly decorated. They have a floor area of 27m² and come with a private bathroom. It includes a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, work desk and minibar.
Tower view double
Overlooking Reykjavik and mountain views and located on 6th -12th floor, this spacious room provides 26 m² of floor area space. There is a comfortable living area with arm chairs, private bathroom & WC and a lovely queen sized bed.
Tower view Twin
This tower view room is also available with two twin beds, overlooking Reykjavik and mountain views, this spacious room provides 27 m² of floor area space. There is a comfortable living area with arm chairs, private bathroom with bathtub and WC. It includes a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, work desk and minibar.
Family room
These stylish rooms offering views over Reykjavik, are also spacious with 30m² of floor area. These rooms have either one double and one single bed or three singles and also have a work desk and attractive living area.
Junior suite
This attractive suite provides very comfortable accommodation for two people as it has 40 sq m of floor space. The suite has partial ocean and city views. There is a comfortable living area with arm chairs and a lovely king size bed.

Facilities

Although the hotel lies about two kilometres from the city centre, it is only about 20 minutes walk or for those who prefer, there is a shuttle bus service three times a day. The popular Laugardalslaug – a really large swimming pool is within easy reach as are the rest of the city's attractions.

Back at the hotel, after a busy day sight seeing, there is a spa with a sauna, hot tubs, steam baths and a beautiful candlelit relaxing room. If you would like to be pampered with a massage these can be done in your room. Close by, there is a fitness centre with a well-equipped gym.

If you fancy exploring further afield there are number of excursions available to the west Fjords and the famous Blue Lagoon on the Reykjanes peninsula.

Restaurants

The hotel has a lovely restaurant – The Grand brasserie – and a good bars called Miðgarður Bar and Torfastofa Lounge, which is the perfect place to relax together with a light meal, wines or cocktails.

Grand Brasserie
The day starts in this restaurant with a truly excellent breakfast buffet which appeals to everyone! In the evening, guests are offered an a la carte menu with Icelandic seafood specialities as well as international classics. There is a comprehensive accompanying wine list. The restaurant is perfect whether you want a quick snack or a four-course feast.
Torfastofa Lounge
Comfortable with a welcoming ambience, this lounge is open daily and serves light meals and snacks as well as wines and cocktails. Happy hour from 5-7 pm. The perfect place to unwind and relax.
MôgarÔur Bar
Scandinavian style bar and lounge at Grand Hotel Reykjavík representing a theme of Nordic mythology with symbols from Iceland‘s dramatic nature with its glass ceiling and glass flooring representing the ice. Great venue for welcome drinks and light bites.
