Al Waha at Shangri La Al Jissah is a veritable oasis nestling amongst the mountains, with its own gorgeous sandy beach with the tempting waters of the Gulf of Oman beyond which can be explored with snorkels or in a glass-bottomed kayak. Room Types

The radiant rooms and suites are spacious, comfortable and luxurious. Each has a spacious balcony or terrace of at least 5 sq m with table and chairs for simply relaxing, enjoying the view together. Inside, through floor to ceiling sliding windows, there is a living area with satellite/cable TV and home movie channels, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar and electronic safe. There is a beautiful king size bed and the bathroom has bath tub and a walk-in shower and lovely Shangri La toiletries are provided plus extra towels for the beach. There is air conditioning throughout and Wi-Fi.

Superior Room

This radiant room overlooks the lush gardens of the resort and is both spacious and comfortable (32 sq m). The room has comfortable chairs, a king size double bed and an en suite bathroom with bathtub and separate walk in shower. Outside there is a generous (5 sq m) balcony or terrace furnished with chairs and table.
Superior Sea View Room

The Superior room type is available as a Superior Sea View Room with beautiful views overlooking the beach and Gulf of Oman.
Executive Sea View Room

With 45 sq m, this attractive room is spacious and with floor to ceiling sliding windows it is filled with plenty of natural light. There is a spacious balcony/terrace with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Oman and the table and chairs are perfect for relaxing and sharing a drink together. Inside, the comfortable living area has a sofa and armchair and an attractive king size bed. The en suite bathroom is stylish and has both a bathtub and separate shower.
One Bedroom Suite

Offering guests expansive and contemporary luxury, this lovely one bedroomed suite (68 sq m) is perfect for two. Outside there is a generous balcony/terrace that has beautiful views of the Gulf of Oman and is furnished with table and chairs. Inside there is a separate living room with sofa, armchairs and writing desk plus a dining table and chairs. The bedroom has a king size bed and the elegant bathroom has both bathtub and walk in shower.
Specialty Suite

This beautiful and contemporarily decorated suite in a palette of white, brown and coffee is perfect for honeymooners as it has views of the Gulf of Oman that are peaceful and inspirational. These views can be enjoyed from the furnished balcony/terrace. Inside, the comfortable living room has a sofa and armchairs plus a dining suite. The separate bedroom has a lovely king size bed and an en suite with both bathtub and walk-in shower.

Facilities

Al Waha at Shangri La Barr Al Jissah has the three key ingredients for a relaxing honeymoon - sun, sand and sea. The resort has its own stretch of beach (about half a kilometre) and the more secluded Turtle Beach. The resort also has three gorgeous pools and the winding lazy river for those who want to enjoy life at a slower pace.

With total relaxation and some pampering, the resort's Spa offers some wonderful treatments to soothe your mind and body. There is a well-equipped health club plus tennis courts and mini golf.

Oman has 1700 kilometres of coastline, which includes some brilliant areas for snorkelling and diving. There are facilities for both at the resort, with experienced staff who can instruct at various levels if you will need some guidance. It is well worth doing as there are moray eels, marine turtles and colourful fish to see. Other water sports that are available include water-skiing, wind surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, wake boarding or kayaking in a glass bottom kayak – what fun.

For those interested in conservation, the resort has a very special project to help protect the Hawksbill and Green marine turtles in the area. There is dedicated Turtle Ranger who raises the turtles' profile amongst guests and who is delighted if you would like to take part in his valuable work.

Restaurants

Al Waha at Shangri La Barr Al Jissah promises great dining experiences for the discerning epicurean. There is a great choice of world cuisines as the resort comprises of three hotels and guests can choose where they would like to dine. Al Bandar for example, has the romantic Capri Court with views over the sea and offering contemporary Italian cuisine and an outdoor restaurant serving Tapas and Sabiah and several pool bars. There are 12 restaurants and bars for you to choose from including several pool bars.

Samba (Main Restaurant)

Global flavours from Asia, Latin America and the Mediterranean can be enjoyed at Samba.
Surf Cafe

For casual dining throughout the day, head to Surf Café, which offers a selective range of healthy snacks, burgers and sandwiches.
Sultanah

Situated in the hotel Shangri La Al Husn, Sultanah is an upscale restaurant that has the style of a luxury cruise liner and a menu of classic international favourites.
Shahrazad

This attractive restaurant is situated in Shangri La Al Hussn and offers an authentic taste of Moroccan cuisine as well as Lebanese and Omani specialities.
Zafran Café

Situated at Majaar Souk within the Resort, this delightful café is perfect for lighter meals and snack.
Bait al Bahr

This is a delightful and romantic restaurant that is situated right on the beach and specialises in Omani seafood dishes. This is definitely a lovely romantic setting for dinner for two as the sunsets.
