Nestled on a tree-clad hill overlooking the rolling savannah, Mara Serena Lodge is fashioned after the traditional Maasai manyatta and provides beautifully-appointed rooms from which you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the landscape.

During your stay you will have the opportunity to try and spot all of the members of the celebrated “Big 5”, and enjoy gripping night drives and guided walks. You will also be given a fascinating insight into the Maasai culture and way of life through performances of traditional dance, a bush dinner and visits to the local Maasai community.

Room Types

Each of the prettily decorated en suite rooms and suites come with king-sized or twin beds depending on your preference, not to mention spacious marble bathrooms, a vanity unit/writing desk and complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Mara Suite

    Honeymoon guests can opt for the lavish Mara Suite, which features a spacious master bedroom with king-sized double bed, a separate sitting area and oversized bathroom, which includes both a bathtub and shower. This suite also boasts two private balconies, a mini bar stocked to reflect your personal tastes, and the attendance of a dedicated room steward. In-room catering is also available.
  • Lodge Room

    Spend your honeymoon in the Lodge room, with 24-hour room service, complimentary mineral water and toiletries, hair dryer, safe and free Wi-Fi.

Facilities

Mara Serena is home to the brand new Serena Maisha Spa & Gym where you can enjoy soothing massages or a brisk work-out session respectively. The gym is fully equipped and includes exercise bikes, weights and running machines, not to mention a steam room, sauna and juice bar.


The spa offers two spacious treatment rooms where you can indulge in the lodge’s delightful signature Oringa Massage, which utilises scented eucalyptus wood to promote optimum blood flow and lymph drainage.


There is also a large swimming pool at the lodge, and during the day you can embark on morning and afternoon safari drives, and even exciting night drives which enable you to spot a variety of nocturnal animal life. Maasai dance performances, a bush dinner – complete with campfire and warriors - and a visit to a traditional Maasai craft market are also on the menu.

Restaurants

The lodge boasts a spacious Maasai-inspired dining room which allows you to eat either inside or outdoors depending on your preference and offers sweeping views over the grasslands. Linked to the dining room is a comfortable bar area with plenty of outdoor seating so you can enjoy the glow of the campfire after dark.


Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style and include a wide selection of dishes, including vegetarian options.


Dinners come in the form of 5-course menus, and there are also regular theme nights, such as Kenyan night, which allows you to sample a variety of local favourites.


Bush dining is also available, so you can enjoy your meal out on the savannah, overlooking the hippo pool or on the summit of Look-Out Hill.


You can even opt for a Breakfast Balloon Safari or savour a picnic on the safari trail.
