If you’d prefer a little more seclusion – make your way to the appropriately-named Lovers Bay by boat.
To gain further insight into the local culture, pay a visit to the Tobago Museum to discover a whole host of historical artifacts and relics which nod to the island’s past – including fascinating objects which were said to have been found aboard a pirate ship many centuries ago.
When the sun goes down, Tobago has a laid-back, tranquil atmosphere. You may stumble across the occasional restaurant and bar, but most of the action occurs in local hotels, where you’ll be entertained by singers and performers. If you’re missing the lively atmosphere, head to Buccoo on a Sunday. Locals celebrate the weekly Sunday School (but in the traditional religious way, as expected) Locals, eat, drink, dance, and celebrate past midnight.
